1957 Chevy 210

This 1957 Chevrolet 210 sedan is an excellent example of an unrestored classic with some vintage custom work and great patina! The car is an estate car whose owner passed on. He left behind a wife who, in her 74 years, has never had a driver’s license. She brought the car to us for a little clean up work so that it can be sold.  The car received a carb rebuild, new fuel pump, new wheel cylinders, radiator rodded, fresh fluids, full tune-up, clean-up/detail work, and a buff and polish.

This ‘57 Chevy has been driven and loved for 61 years. The original 6-cylinder engine starts right up, runs as strong and smooth as Tennessee whiskey. If you were forced to find fault in the drivetrain it is that the engine could use new valve seals to resolve some of the intermittent smoke.

The car drives great. Steering is tight, throttle is crisp, brakes and clutch feel good, original 3-speed manual transmission shifts smoothly. The car still has its factory posi-trac rear end.

With just a few small odds and ends, the ‘57 could easily be an all-weather daily driver. The tires still have plenty of tread left. Almost everything works; wipers work, all of the electricals work! Lights, signals, heater, gauges, dash lights, dummy lights, low note horn, radio, and even the dome light works! There are a few things that need some repair or replacement: the clock and the high note horn, both of these are easily fixable.

The car has original glass. There is a bit of delamination at the edges but not bad. The driver’s front door glass as a crack in it but is not broken.

The upholstery is only few years old and is in excellent condition. Seats, door panels, arm rest pads, headliner, visors, and carpet have been redone.

The body is in good shape for a girl of her age. Body panels are solid with the only rust being in the bottom corner of the front fenders and a small spot on the driver’s rear dog leg (inside of the door opening). The quarters and rockers are solid. Looking underneath, the front floor pans have already been patched. The body is pretty straight, too. There are a few dents to pop out in the roof, and a small one in the passenger side quarter.

The ‘57 was originally silver with a white top and spear. Currently, the car is wearing the original white spear with a 1960’s lacquer or Imron paint job which shows its age but polished up beautifully. When the car was painted, they customized the fin tips. Removing the trim and taking the body color all the way back. The car will come with original fin trim in case you wish to return it to stock.

The asking price is open to negotiation. Buyer can take delivery of the car as is, or if you prefer, we would be glad to handle any work that you wish to have done. Any questions or if you would like to talk by phone, please contact us.
